NHTSA recall campaign
16E071000
What was wrong
Defect
EVS, Ltd. (EVS) is recalling certain EVS emergency vehicle seats, model numbers 1880, 1870, 1780, 1770, 1740, 1750, 1800, 1850, 1900, and 2000. The affected seats are equipped with Dometic/Atwood slide tracks that may not properly engage, allowing seats to move in the event of a crash. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 207, "Seating Systems," and 210, "Seat Belt Assembly Anchorages."
Risk
If the seat moves in the event of a crash, the seat occupant would be at an increased risk of injury.
Manufacturer remedy
EVS will notify owners and dealers will replace the seat tracks, free of charge. The recall began on September 19, 2016. Owners may contact EVS customer service at 1-800-364-3218.
